Between Wakefulness And Sleep.

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem.

Her day has been long and she finally lays down in bed,

With hopes that in time she would eventually drift off to sleep.

In that state between wakefulness and sleep,

On her day and how she spent it does she ponder deep.

She remembers those things she was blessed to do right,

And the gratefulness that fills her heart makes it feel light.

She then thinks of the many wrongs she did or might have done which makes her chest tighten,

So she earnestly asks for forgiveness, in hopes that the black spots on her heart be whightened.

Just as sleep begins to take her away,

She knows that this might be the last time she finds herself awake.

She utters the shahada knowing it might be her last,

An prays for the best for when her soul is taken from it's core.

She finally is asleep and her soul hovers above her body,

Waiting for Allah to give His final decree.

If she would be of those who return to the illusions of this world,

Or of those who return to the reality of the next world.

————————————————–—

She wakes up to a new day, a proof that she has been given yet another chance,

A chance to turn back to Allah and to increase in goodness.

She utters her gratefulness to her Lord for that He had brought her back to life after He caused her to die (in sleep),

And she holds in her heart the knowledge that to Him is her final return.

She then whispers to her soul words that she hopes,

Would be remembered when the devil begins to whisper to her false hopes:

"O my Soul, you are back yet again to this world of deception, so do not be deluded away from your Lord, for you do not know when you finally would be seperated from your core. Remain steadfast and remain patient, and with your Lord lies the greatest rewards."
