Marriage...

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem

You probably would be expecting something different from the title but...Subhanallah! I was watching this video by Mufti Menk on marriage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FterpIbfTqU) and it made me realize something. Subhanallah!!! For those of us who aren't married yet, here we are, even though we know Allah's timing is the best and all, sometimes we wonder why we are still single. We see others with their spouses and we pray we also had our spouses by our sides. But subhanallah, so many people have gotten married and have made so many mistakes in their marriages and in raising their kids and are only realizing their mistakes now. They regret not knowing the information they now know about marriage before they had gotten married. Yet here we are, alhamdulillah, Allah has blessed us with this much information about marriage right before we get into it ourselves. Allah has saved us from guilt and regret. He has given us the opportunity to get prepared before we finally get settled ourselves. Subhanallah! To me that is indeed a great blessing, and masha Allah, there is still room for soaking in more knowledge before our own times come.

Really, we are among the blessed ones and it's high time we stopped to think and thank Allah for any condition He has put us in, for if only we knew what Allah's plans were for us, our heart would melt with the warmth of His love. marriage is indeed a wonderful blessing, but not being married now doesn't mean Allah is depriving you of that blessing. It may be that Allah has a greater blessing in stall for you, even if not in this dunya... and surely, the blessings in the hereafer are a bajillion times greater than the blessings in this life, if only we understood, and indeed, Allah is the best of planners. May Allah grant us all understanding. Plus, as I said, so many of those who got married without that knowledge actually wish they could switch places if possible. Alhamdulillah really. Our times would come insha Allah, and when it does, it certainly would be worth the wait, alhamdulillah :D

May Allah grant us all righteous spouses who would strive with us for Jannah and righteous offsprings that would be the coolness of our eyes in this dunya and the akhira insha Allah, Ameen. May Allah grant us good in this dunya and in the akhira and protect us from naar, ameen.
